Frequently Asked Questions

How does the "Pocket-and-Execute" workflow work?

To eliminate physical fatigue ("gorilla arm") while holding your device and decluttering:

  1. Scan: Pan your camera across the cluttered space. The app projects a frosted-glass AR highlight around the highest-priority item.
  2. Pocket: Lower your device into your pocket or point it down. On-device CoreMotion sensors automatically detect the posture change and enter hands-free execution mode.
  3. Verify: Clear the physical item. When you raise your iPhone back up, the app automatically takes a verification snapshot to confirm the item is gone and advances your declutter queue.

The app says camera or motion permission is required. How do I fix this?

Reclaim AR requires camera access to render AR overlays and motion sensor access for pocket detection. If permissions were initially denied:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Scroll down and tap Reclaim AR.
  3. Toggle both Camera and Motion & Fitness to ON.
  4. Return to Reclaim AR and relaunch the scanning session.

How do I manage or cancel my Pro subscription?

All subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled securely through Apple's App Store. To view, change, or cancel your subscription:

  1. Open your iPhone Settings.
  2. Tap your Apple ID / Name at the very top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select Reclaim AR and choose your desired renewal option or tap Cancel Subscription.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

If you upgraded to a new iPhone or reinstalled the app, open Reclaim AR, navigate to the Pro upgrade screen or settings sheet, and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, your Pro access will immediately reactivate.

Which devices support LiDAR Volumetric Meshing?

While standard ARKit tracking and AI object decluttering work on all supported ARKit-compatible iPhones, full 3D surface meshing and cubic volume calculations utilize Apple's LiDAR Scanner. This is available on:

  • iPhone 12 Pro / 12 Pro Max and later Pro models (iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 15 Pro, 16 Pro, etc.)
  • iPad Pro (11-inch & 12.9-inch 2020 models and later)

Why isn't an item in my room being detected?

For optimal recognition accuracy:

  • Ensure the room is well-lit, avoiding deep shadows or harsh glare directly into the lens.
  • Stand approximately 1 to 3 meters (3 to 10 feet) from the cluttered surface during the initial scan sweep.
  • Hold the camera steady for 1–2 seconds while the visual grounding pipeline analyzes the scene coordinates.
